GRCC men’s basketball starts off the New Year by beating the No. 4 team Tacoma CC.

After a disappointing 3-5 start to the Gator’s Men’s Basketball team, the New Year seems to have brought Green River new life.  Green River’s Men’s Basketball team began 2010 playing just a day after the start of the New Year against Grays Harbor.

Title IX has succeeded in increasing women’s participation in GRCC athletics

On June 23rd 1973, Congresswoman Patsy T. Mink wrote a law known as title IX that explained that no one could be excluded from any school program based on gender. Since it was written, Title IX has led to a high increase in female athletes in colleges like Green River.

    As the sports year is coming to its end at Green River, many sport teams are still giving their final energy to fight for the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges championships (NWAACC).     Although not all Green River’s sport teams qualified for the playoffs Bob Kickner, Director of Athletics at GRCC, says that “it has been a very productive year.

UW hopes to continue QB tradition with Nick Montana

The University of Washington may have missed out on signing Jake Heaps, one of the top quarterback prospects in the state of Washington. However, they didn’t miss out on signing a big name quarterback for their 2010 recruiting class. Nick Montana, son of Hall of Fame and former NFL quarterback Joe Montana, will be wearing purple and gold after he graduates high school.

Seattle Seahawks hit hard by injuries during 2009 campaign

Hawks feel Deja vu as injuries in ‘09 resemble those that derailed 2008

NFL analyst predicts that the Seahawks could go 12-4 or 9-7 the word called injuries that keep occurring year after year. Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck injured again along with linebacker Lofa Tatupu is injured but has returned in last week’s game.
