The first full weekend without rain allowed all six GRCC varsity teams to take to their respective fields for competition. Behind excellent pitching performances, both the softball (4-2) and baseball (5-2) teams won their weekend series' advancing them in the NWAACC standings. GRCC Softball defeated Grays Harbor College 12-0, and 11-2 and split with Centralia College 8-1, and 3-11. Freshman Pitcher/DH Kayla Evans earned a victory and pounded two home runs on the weekend.

Gator Baseball took two out of three from Pierce College behind dominating performances by Sophomore pitchers David Macey and Jake Shadle. Macey struck out eleven and gave up zero runs en route to a 5-0 victory in game one. Shadle followed up with a six strikeout, complete game shutout in game two. The dynamic duo will next pitch against league rival Tacoma CC on Saturday April 17th at Auburn Mountainview HS.
Meanwhile, the tennis team also took to the courts on Friday against Skagit Valley College. The men improved to 2-0 on the season with a 6-3 victory. Freshman Jake Stewart has won all four of his matches on the season. While the ladies lost to the Cardinal 2-7, where GRCC's defending NWAACC champ Jodi Owen took her first defeat in over a year.
Lastly, after Sunday's first round at the Wenatchee Golf Invitational, the Gator women's team lead the field by seven strokes and Freshman Jeremy Johnson is six shots back off the men's lead. Both teams will finish the 36 hole event Monday morning.
