March 25- Three rooms of a CCA apartment were burglarized while residents were away from home. While the main entry to the apartment was unlocked, three rooms showed forceful entry, while the remaining room did not. Some of the items reported stolen include MP3 player, laptops, cell phones, digital cameras, debit cards and cash. Safety called Auburn Police to continue the investigation. A suspicious individual was reported in the area at the time of the robbery, at this time the suspect has yet to be identified and no formal charges have been made.
March 22- Rovin Lall, a safety employee, received a call from Coach Rodney about an attendee of a basketball game in the gym. The man was threatening another coach that was refereeing a match between two Auburn teams. When Lall arrived, the two men involved spoke with him and the referee stated that the attendant had threatened his life after being kicked out of the gym for foul language. The attendant was cuffed by Auburn police during questioning, though he was later released to his car after receiving a trespass notice from Lall.
March 20- at around 1:30 a.m. safety officer Ronald Simmons was on regular patrol when he received a radio report from Steven Russell, another safety worker, stating there was a highly intoxicated male walking to his vehicle. Russell said it appeared he was attempting to leave the campus. When Simmons arrived at the vehicle, he noticed a strong marijuana smell and asked whether the man was planning on driving and how much he'd had to drink that night. The man stated he was not going to drive, and he'd had a lot to drink. After questioning, the man admitted to smoking marijuana in his car and a pipe was confiscated. Two more individuals then approached the scene and said they would take the drunken man home. The man's car was registered to a student, a letter of trespass was written following the evening's events.
March 14- On a normal CCA patrol, officer Simmons was called to a unit by a resident, and asked to get the RA to handle a situation. When the RA and safety officers arrived at the unit, they were told that *** had hit his brother's girlfriend and then left. Upon entering the apartment, beer cans and a bottle of rum were photographed. The girlfriend that was hit showed no physical signs of attack, but stated that she did want to press charges on the brother. There were several witnesses to the hit, though stories varied slightly depending on the viewer's location in relation to the stairs where the attack occurred. Statements were collected from all individuals in the residence, the only person who wasn't apparently intoxicated was also the person who asked for help from security.
March 5- Female student was issued a five day suspension and 72 hour notice to vacate after security officers questioned said student about smoking marijuana in her room. Student eventually admitted to smoking a joint after questioning, and an inspection of the room found remnants of said joint. No other drugs were present; student is no longer living at CCA.
March 3- A female student reported that her purse, checkbook, digital camera, and keys were stolen from her Honda Civic while she was in class. While safety reported this theft to Auburn Police Department, at this time there has been no further development in the capture or charging of the thief.
