Many students do not have continuous classes; they usually have one or two hours free time in between. An hour or two a day can add up, the question on campus is how to kill it.
The Holman library is the most crowded building on campus.
19 year-old Wesley Allen, majoring in Business, was listening to music from his iPod in the library. "There is one and a half hour between my first and second class. Usually I just come to library…try to get on a computer…to see if there is anyone one I know," he said. However, he would prefer to take classes continuously.
Nick Phillips, also 19 and majoring in Business, said, "I have totally three hours between three classes, a one and two hours. I just do my homework or check e-mail. It's ok, but continuous classes are better."
Xiaoxi Jim, a 19 and majoring in computer science, has to kill three hours every day. "I live in Green River Campus Corner, so I would go home…eat and change books……But I think my classes are too scattered, I wish they can be a little closer," she said.
While some students prefer continuous classes, others on campus enjoy their free time.
The Cafeteria, a place to eat, study, or just handout with friends, is a very popular place to kill time.
"Eat, and do homework most of the time. I think it's cool…not too long, so I can take a break," said Gabbi Dewalt, 20, a Theater Art major, enjoying her breakfast in the Cafeteria.
Chin Tung Chow, 19, a student from Hong Kong majoring in business, agreed with Gabbi. "I would handout with friends or prepare for the next class. Actually, I think it's good that I can have fun with friends. I don't have many chances to see some of them outside the campus," she said.
