Green River Community College's spring quarter job expo attracted vendors such as Payless Shoe Source, Fastenal Co, BuildingI, Critter Control of Seattle and students looking for a job.

Having taken place in the Lindbloom Student Center, this late-April event attracted crowds of people. A portion of these crowds were highly interested in what Payless had to offer. Payless Shoe Source, who has been to the job expo's on campus before, attracted such a crowd that in the hour and 15 minutes they ran out of their free pens, were running low on free highlighters and even had their stack of 100 brochures reduced to just a few.

On the college website, it was announced that an expo would be going on and that people should try to not only bring several copies of their resume but also to "dress for success." Looking into the student center, there was a large number of students who didn't dress any differently than they would on a regular day.

But there were a few select people who came dressed to the nines in everything from black suits, black tie and blue shirts to little black dresses, black heels and matching jackets.

The people dressed for the event were also the same people holding folders probably filled with copies of their resume.

Those people not only had the right clothes and the right stuff, they also knew what to ask for. Go to any table they were at, and they went to a lot of these tables, and listen to their questions. Their questions were quick to the point, "I'm looking for this. Do you guys offer that?" and when they got an answer they were not looking for, the politely said thank you, shook hands, and left.

Students still looking for a job should check out Green River Community College's Student Employment/ Co-op system online at the student website.
