M.I.T (Made in Taiwan) is a club at Green River Community College which serves the purpose of integrating all students from Taiwan as well as increasing awareness of Taiwanese culture towards the whole student body, especially those of other cultures.

The club was established in Fall 2009 by 7 individuals who are mostly from Taiwan. These 7 individuals eventually served as the officers of the club with 28 members at that time. Since it was established, M.I.T has been involved in various culture exchanging events to promote awareness of Taiwanese culture. Every Friday, M.I.T has an executive board meeting, where officers meet and discuss about reaching out to more students, planning upcoming events, as well as collecting information that can benefit members. In addition to the executive board meeting, M.I.T. holds an open meeting for general members once a month. The purpose of this open meeting is to encounter new members as well as to provide information and collect ideas from members.

M.I.T always strives for the best of its member. A couple events that M.I.T has successfully held are the Lunar New Year Hotpot and Taiwan Traditional Movie Night with Bubble Tea Social. Both events serve the purpose of M.I.T mission statement to integrate Taiwanese students as well as to promote awareness of students of other cultures to be involved in Taiwanese cultural events.

Today, M.I.T has a total of 48 members which has included all of Taiwanese students at Green River Community College. This number also included students from other cultures. Despite the increasing number of members, the club itself is building its foundation to become better and well-recognized among the student body. It is the vision of M.I.T club to keep improving and engage more students to be involved in the club activities, as well as to provide more and more opportunities for students to have chance to experience Taiwanese culture.
