Dance Connection Club started in 2005 as a means for students to learn dance techniques while sharing their cultures through dance. Domestic and International students share the joy of dance without language barriers. Youth of all ages and seniors of all generations share through dance without age discrimination barriers. Parents and children enjoy learning to dance together. And culture, politics and many other messages can be shared through dance.

Dance Connection won Club of the Year in 2006 and won again in 2009.

This year the Dance Connection Club, under the guidance of Stacey Larange as President and Meiling Ly as Vice President has brought a Girls Jazz Funk from China by Meiling Ly, Tango from Latin America taught by Latin Rhythms President Sergio Vazquez, Hip Hop Boot Camp (American Style) by Eric Choi and Nick Shaw, Hawaiian Hula by Hokulani Dance Studio of Seattle, Indian Bollywood by Shub-Chintan Gill of Rhythms of India of Seattle, and now Sarah and Karim Koumbassa of One World Dance will teach African Dance on April 30th . The last time they taught a workshop they were amazing, fast, furious and exciting with their dance technique as well as the lessons about the culture behind the dances.

Dance Connection is also bring Hejira, World Jazz Fusion Band to Green River on May 27th for a fundraiser and open dance event. Some of GRCC's other dance teams will join us to perform. There will be open dance and Hejira will offer world beats such as: Turkish, Balkan, Persian, Brazilian, Beledi, Saiidi, Ayub, Cheftitielli, Maksum, and Bulgarian, to name a few. This should culminate our year of bringing the world together through music and dance.
