As per usual, things have been busy around the Student Life Office. Recently, the RAs at Campus Corner Apartments (CCA) went to the Pacific Affiliate of College & University Residence Halls, a leadership conference in Oregon, to learn ways that they can really make campus living exciting and enjoyable. The RAs were awarded "Best Roll Call" at the conference and received many compliments regarding their level of excitement and participation; particularly in events where they collaborated with other schools to perform a skit and overall just interact.
On Thursday, November 11th, programmers in the student life office will also be going to a conference of their own in California. Here, student staff members will be able to meet an array of performers and decide who they want to bring to campus for the students to enjoy. These conferences provide an excellent opportunity for student leaders to branch out and gain new ideas from other colleges/universities that they can bring with them to the Green River campus.
Meanwhile, in the office, many student leaders come to relax and just spend time off the clock. Through the month of November, CLEO and ASGRCC members will be able to unwind with a decorating contest in the office. Last month's winner, Anton (International Activity Programmer), has some real competition this month. Several other student leaders, such as Nick (International Student Ambassador), want to taste victory of their own. Competition is fierce in the Student Life Office, but only one can emerge as winner (well, during this month anyway).
