Oreos, chocolate chip, snicker doodles, Samoa and especially Animal Crackers, those are the good things in life.
Since they were invented long ago, cookies have been bringing people of all ages happiness. As a matter of fact, if there was one thing that could bring everyone together, something to maybe even catalyze world peace, I think that thing would be cookies.
It's a fact that everyone likes cookies. Even if you say you don't like cookies, you probably haven't been given a proper one. Try one of my mom's delicious gooey Snicker Doodles and you will become a believer, trust me.
I believe if there was one cookie that could do this job of bringing the world together with a common liking it would be Animal Crackers. It can be said that one of the most popular, well known cookies is that of the animal type. Who hasn't heard little Shirley Temple's song of passion for the cookies?
"Animal crackers in my soup, monkeys and rabbits loop the loop." Of course Shirley, I believe that's a sentiment we can all share.
I took these thoughts and developed some questions to ask some students of Green River, to see what you thought about cookies, especially Animal Crackers, to really get an idea if this is really a common liking that can be used to bring people together.[t1]
I started off with the question of "What is your favorite cookie." Everyone could come up with an answer (answers varying dramatically because everyone likes cookies!
I would have been very surprised if I got an answer of "Cookies!? What the hell are those?" Or "Cookies, naw I'm not a fan."
When asking a group of kids what there favorite cookies were, one would voice opinion and there would be people commenting and comparing there own similar likings. In one case Jesse Zakabi described his favorite kind of cookie, "the ones with caramel and chocolate," he couldn't recall the name.
Then his buddy, Taylor Horner, came up with the name, "Samoa." And there was a resounding "Oh I love those cookies" throughout the group.
And when asked if they knew what Animal Crackers were, of course, everyone knew of them, surprise however not everyone likes Animal Crackers!
Playing around with his long board Evan Orcutt revealed that he was not a fan of Animal Crackers. So I thought he must not know of the frosted kind, but he already knew of them! He was just not a fan of the edible animal shaped concoctions.
When asked if there was any way to improve upon the already amazing cookies Nate Menalia and Taylor Horner seemed to agree that they could be made "more delicious."
Jessie Zakabi had a great plan of action on how the improved deliciousness could be obtained, by dipping them in chocolate. How could I not have seen it before!? That's such an amazing idea. Maybe even Evan would find chocolate covered Animal Crackers to his liking, hopefully those cookies come about and he gets a chance to try them.
The love of cookies is something that everyone has in common. Everyone can voice there opinion and throw in there own ideas on other views. It's a very relatable subject.
Share your cookies. If you see someone having a bad day, or you just want to make a new friend, give ‘um a cookie. It's a great way to start a conversation, meet new people, and make new friends.
Remember though, not everyone is a fan of Animal Crackers. So maybe try a variety.
Fact: Cookies make the world a better place.
