IT updates Green River’s wireless network over Winter Break

Over winter break, IT has updated the wireless network and log-in page. There are now three different wireless networks; one for guests, one for students, and one for teachers. Anyone can connect to the guest network, and whilst it does not actually connect you to the internet, you have access to features such as the campus map, the Green River main website page, and the library.

Green River offers international students two programs to help improve their English

Upon coming into the United States, especially being a student of Green River Community College (GRCC), most international students have a bright dream to study to where they've never been before. However, the biggest problem they should face with is always waiting for them; English.

Students can look forward to many more this quarter

On Tuesday, October 13, in the LC, Fall Quarter transfer Fair was held for all GRCC students. More than 20 four-year universities, such as University of Washington, Washington State University, Pacific Lutheran University, Seattle Pacific University, City University, Evergreen State College, etc.

Enumclaw campus hosts candidate showcase

A campaign meeting was held at the Enumclaw GRCC campus for candidates running in the upcoming elections. GRCC student president Mae Cubing organized the event, while Jim Hutchinson from Puget Sound Energy moderated it. The informational meeting gave candidates a chance to share with the community their campaign ideas.

Diversity course required class of 2011

On Monday, April 27, 2009, over 82% of full-time Green River Community College (GRCC) faculty voted yes to a new diversity course requirement for the A.A. transfer student degree. With a 66.39% vote yes, this new course will take effect for students starting Fall 2011, a new catalog year for the college.

    Future graduates of Green River will soon embark on new things outside the campus with hopes and dreams beyond the beige walls of these classroom walls.     Some soon to be alumni will graduate holding their career in the palm of their hands, others will reflect on their time spent at GRCC and embark on new adventures to engage in more education in the hopes of learning more about whom they are and what they want to become.
