The Last Airbender

M. Night Shyamalan and his adaptation of the hit animated series Avatar: the Last Airbender, debutes July 2, 2010. In the show, there are four nations, which all use an element called “bending.” It is a mixture of magic and martial arts, the odds are against Aang and his companions as they fight their way through hordes of Fire Nation soldiers to achieve Aang’s purpose as the Avatar, a person with emense power, able to bring peace and harmony to the world. This movie is said to have Dev Patel (Slumdog Millionaire), and first time actor Noah Ringer.
The Last Airbender is a story about Aang, Sokka, and Katara’s journey to help Aang master all four elements of bending and to defeat Firelord Ozia, ruler of the Fire Nation, Aang is also known as the Avatar. The avatar is a person who is a master of all four elements of bending and is a bridge between the spirit world and the mortal world. After being trapped in an iceberg for 100 years, released by Sokka and Katara, the ruthless Fire Nation has invaded the Earth Kingdom, wiped out all but one of the Air Nomads (Aang) and has attempted to wipe out the Water Tribe in the North Pole. Lead by Fire Lord Ozai, the Fire Nation has the entire world by the throat, it is now up to Aang to stop Fire Lord Ozai and the Fire Nation to bring the peaceful balance and harmony to a war torn world, caused by the Fire Nation. Chasing after Aang, is the banished Fire Nation Prince, Zuko and his uncle who was a Fire Nation army General Iroh. Zuko is chasing after the Avatar to regain his honor and his place among his people as prince of the Fire Nation.
